We are a LITTLE closer to closing – I will take progress of any magnitude. Our agent said that the other agent, Richard, e-mailed her yesterday, asking if she would split a 1% reduction in their fee, and she agreed. He feels that it will put us very close to what the IRS wants to satisfy the lien, and that they will most likely agree to it. Hope so.
If all goes well, Richard said that we should be able to close by the end of next week. I guess I will believe it when it happens, but there just aren’t a lot of other issues to be resolved.
In the meantime, we are going to have our realtor ask Richard if we can go by the house today and make some notes. Our lady has a terrible cold, but she doesn’t even have to meet us there to let us in – the back door to the house is laying on the porch, so it’s wide open!! There is a screened back porch, but there’s no lock on that door, and you can just walk right in – I halfway expect to find hoboes living there when we close. I’m thinking of asking Richard if we can PLEASE put the door back up ourselves and secure the house.
