An Extension to the Extension?

We had signed an extension to our sales contract and it’s set to expire today – I guess we will be signing an extension to the extension until the end of this week!  Hopefully this will go through and then things will kick into high gear for us.

In the meantime, we are thinking about what it will take to put this RV into storage.  Hubby has washed it and is looking at some minor repairs that need to be done.  These RVs are built for occasional camping and full-time use takes its toll.

For example, it’s outfitted throughout with day-night pleated shades, and the cords woven through the pleats are starting to snap like guitar strings!  You can ship them off to the manufacturer for restringing or, if you’re a DIYer, you can attempt the job yourself.  Hubs has found a web site with instructions, and yesterday I picked up a 24 yd. package of nylon cord at Joann Fabric, so he’s going to tackle this job. Threading that cord through a gazillion tiny holes looks very tedious so, although he’s a handy guy, if I see veins bulging on his forehead, I’m going to have to pull him off the job and hand it over to our 15-year-old!

I rethreaded some shades in our house, it’s easier with a large plastic needle if you can find one to fit the holes. Plus keeping the shades tight (like when closed) may allow him to thread a whole bunch of slats at one time instead of trying to go through each hole on its own, then the next, then the next.
