Not much home renovating went on today… I guess it serves as a reminder that in addition to renovating this house, there are other things in our daily lives that need to be attended to.
The one house item that got done was that I met with an A/C guy to look over his proposal for replacing the A/C units at our house. We have two systems that are on their last legs. Both this guy and another company recommended replacing them with 2 new systems, as opposed to one really large one. It has to do with the length of the run from the compressors to the far side of the house, and the vaulted ceiling that is in the center of the house which prevents a large duct from passing through. We need to review both proposals this weekend and make a decision soon because it’s starting to warm up around here!
K. and I both had doctor’s appointments this afternoon and then K. had a birthday party to attend tonight – in the meantime, hubby and I went out to dinner with his sister, who is down from Buffalo, NY, to spend the month of March in St. Petersburg Beach. She came bearing a traditional gift of multiple jars of Weber’s horseradish mustard, which hubs is wild about and we can’t get here, as well as several jars of Mentholatum, which we’ve had trouble finding in the past. She also delivered his old wool blanket from when he was little – he called it his “Itchy”. It was very good to see her and we hope to get in more visits before she leaves.
We’re looking forward to our first weekend in the house where we can putter around – no more worrying about cleaning out the camper – YAY! Hope everyone has a nice weekend!
