Jim spent Saturday scraping the popcorn texture off the master bedroom ceiling. It’s a pretty simple but tedious process. First he would spray a small area with water; then he used a scraper to remove the old popcorn finish. Then he would repeat this process. Dozens of times. In the picture below, he’s got half the ceiling done, and is working on the skylight area.
Here’s a close-up, looking straight up at the ceiling where half of it is done:
Here’s what the ceiling looked like at the end of the day:
After the debris dried overnight, hubby swept it up into a pile, and that’s where I got my bag of popcorn 😮
In other home news, we had our very first fire this weekend:
The weather turned off pretty cool this weekend and the local produce stand had one bundle of firewood left, which I grabbed for $5. We enjoyed coffee by the fire yesterday and today.
The last bit of news is that Jim installed a new wireless doorbell push button. There was already a chime box inside, but no button outside, so people have been using a teeny knocker on a brass pineapple on our front door. Now the doorbell blasts out a hearty chime 😮 Things are coming along.
