A Great Souvenir

We have enjoyed visiting with Jim’s sister, who has been spending the month of March down in this area.  She’s heading back to New York soon with one heckuva souvenir, a brand new puppy!

This cute little guy is an Aussie Maltese and he is so sweet! His name is a little up in the air…while he was here, we called him Casey, short for Casey Jones, although Aunt M. also likes Mickey, so we’ll have to wait and see the final decision. During his visit he romped and played and was plum tuckered out:

It was great seeing Aunt M. and her new pup – we’re wishing them a safe trip back home and are looking forward to next year’s visit!

He is so cute… where did she find him? 🙂

She got him at a store in Largo called All About Puppies – it’s the same place we got our Cavalier King Charles spaniel about a year-and-a-half ago. She’s been thinking about getting a pup for quite a while, and she and K. stopped at this store on Fri. while I had a visit to the chiropractor…apparently this little guy stole her heart! She picked him up yesterday and brought him out to our house for a few hours.

Casey Jones and I made it home safely. Contrary to what the salesman said, Casey did not sleep 20 out of 24 hours. He liked to get up at 2:00 am for a trip outside and then play. In the hotel rooms I couldn’t just put him back in the crate because he would bark and disturb the other guests. We played fetch the toy to tire him out.

Casey is adjusting well to his new home. If I watch for his signs, we don’t have any accidents. This morning he was trying to catch the white flakes falling from the sky. Picture of Casey in the snow to follow.

So glad to hear you made it home OK – we were thinking about you & Casey! We really loved being able to see you…your baby brother has commented several times that it’s going to seem strange not to be able to call you to get together for a visit.

  5. What a lovely pup! He certainly is a great souvenir 🙂
