A Case of Mistaken Bird-entity

I’ve been watching a bird who hangs out across the creek at a little gap where the water flows through. I had been assuming it was a yellow-crowned night heron like the bird I saw in our back yard last spring:

However, it didn’t look quite the same, and I took some photos and got out my bird i.d. book…turns out it is a great blue heron – how cool is that? He’s forever hanging out across the creek, waiting for a snack.

And in other random photos, it’s Easter time, which means that you absolutely MUST keep a dish of pastel-colored M&M’s out for snacking 🙂

An Easter tradition
