Living Room/Dining Room Progress (Part 2)

Just downloaded some more pictures, so I can show you part 2 of our living room/dining room progress. After Jim primed the ceiling and walls, he painted the ceiling white and the walls a tannish color…for some reason, I neglected to get any photos of that – sorry!

After the dining room was painted, it was time to tackle the living room. It was crammed full of stuff, so we huffed and we puffed and we moved everything from the living room to the dining room.

The renovation process was pretty much the same as for the dining room. Jim had to replace all of the drywall on one of the walls only. He scraped the popcorn texture off the ceiling and then the room was ready to apply knockdown texture…

Jim ripped up the carpet, and painted the ceiling and walls. Then he began working on putting down the bamboo flooring…the first thing he had to do was put down the blue vapor barrier, followed by a layer of acoustical underlayment:

Then Jim began laying the bamboo flooring:

Again, I was a slacker on my picture-taking, so I didn’t get the floor when it was finished. However, on my next post I’ll share the set-up of our pool table, and you can get a nice look at the new flooring.

For now, I’ll close with a picture of Sheba, who obviously gives the new flooring her seal of approval 🙂

Jim’s working flat out – but it will all be worth it in the end!
