If you tried to guess the mystery items in my last post, and you guessed “vertical supports for pantry shelves”, you would have been right! Check out the pictures below to see how they look in a finished unit.
My last pantry post was about the Man of the Place building the base for the first pantry cabinets. He decided that he would build the corner unit first, using 3/4″ MDF. He cut the two vertical sides and routed slots for the L-shaped shelves. Since the assembled unit would be fairly heavy, he brought all the pieces inside to assemble it.
Once the shelves were assembled, Jim maneuvered them into place on the base.
I like it!
The next job for the Man of the Place was to put trim across the front of each shelf. The trim provides a more finished look and adds stability to the shelves.
After all the shelf trim was installed, it was time for two coats of primer and two coats of paint.
After the paint cured, I couldn’t wait to move the top shelf of the rednecque pantry…
…to my brand new corner cabinet in the walk-in pantry!
