Since we took extensive measurements at the house on Saturday, hubs and K have been happily occupied inputting the information into K.’s software program, Home Designer Suite 7.0. Although K is only 15, we got her this program a couple of years ago, and I am so impressed by how proficient she is at it! Here is a “before” picture of the master:
We will want to change a number of things: strip the wallpaper border, paint a lighter color, replace the carpeting with bamboo flooring, and center the ceiling fan. Here is a 3-D rendering of the changes:
Pretty cool, huh? We can get an idea of how our 4-poster pine bed will look in there, where to put our triple dresser, even how the antique cedar chest my mom made years ago will look in it… I just love this kind of stuff 😮
That’s very cool and sure adds a ton more excitement to all the remodeling! What fun, Debbie 🙂
Donna, Wow, Liking the images . I guess its time to check out that software you mentioned. I am a big time geek when it comes to interior designing :)). So K is into Interior Designing as well?
I think K.’s interested in house design AND interior design, if you can actually differentiate the two.
Oh I see.. as in Architect and Designer .. Right?
Right – I think sometimes her interests lean more in the “Architect” direction, but she has definite tastes for decorating, too – so maybe some of both!
Lovely job K did but I do like the colors in the before picture too… 🙂 Keep it up D, you’re almost there.
